Advanced Dry Eye Assessment with Biomarkers
£250
For patients with moderate to severe dry eye, long-standing symptoms, previous unsuccessful treatment or complex ocular surface disease, we offer our most comprehensive assessment.
In addition to all of the tests included in the Clinical Dry Eye Assessment, this examination includes laboratory biomarker testing to identify the biological processes driving your dry eye.
Biomarker testing includes:
MMP-9 – Detects inflammation on the ocular surface, helping determine whether anti-inflammatory treatment is required.
IgE – Identifies an allergic component contributing to dry eye symptoms and guides allergy-specific treatment.
Lymphotoxin-α (LTA) – Detects chronic immune-mediated inflammation, helping identify more persistent forms of dry eye that may require advanced treatment strategies.
By combining advanced imaging with biomarker analysis, we can provide a far more personalised treatment plan and select therapies that target the underlying cause of your symptoms rather than simply relieving them.
