Periodic Enhancement Program (Existing Patients Only) — £675
Suitable for
Patients who have successfully completed a rehabilitation programme and wish to maintain meibomian gland function, tear film stability, visual comfort, and long-term symptom control.
Why Ongoing Treatment is Recommended
Dry eye disease and meibomian gland dysfunction are typically chronic, progressive conditions. While rehabilitation programmes can significantly improve symptoms and restore gland function, the factors that contribute to dry eye—such as ageing, inflammation, hormonal changes, screen use, environmental conditions, and reduced blink quality—continue to affect the eyes over time.
Without ongoing management, meibomian glands can gradually become blocked again, tear film quality may deteriorate, and symptoms can slowly return.
The Periodic Enhancement Programme is designed to help maintain the improvements achieved during rehabilitation by supporting gland function, reducing inflammation, and promoting continued tear film stability before significant symptoms recur.
Regular maintenance treatment may help:
Maintain healthy meibomian gland function.
Preserve tear film quality and stability.
Reduce the risk of gland blockage and disease progression.
Control low-level inflammation before symptoms worsen.
Improve long-term comfort and visual stability.
Reduce dependence on lubricating eye drops.
Prolong the benefits of previous treatment.
Many patients find that periodic maintenance every 6–12 months helps keep their dry eye condition stable and reduces the likelihood of requiring more intensive treatment in the future.

Ongoing Home Care
To maximise and maintain the benefits of treatment, we recommend continuing a simple home care routine between maintenance visits:
Regular lubricating eye drops as advised by your clinician to support tear film stability and ocular surface comfort.
Daily heat mask therapy, followed by gentle eyelid massage, to help maintain meibomian gland function and reduce the risk of gland blockage.
Good blinking habits, particularly during prolonged screen use.
Ongoing management of contributing factors such as allergies, blepharitis, or environmental triggers where appropriate.
Home care and in-clinic treatments work together to provide the best long-term outcomes.
Available exclusively to patients who have completed one of our dry eye rehabilitation programmes.
